FAQs

When do I need to book?

Each tour has a set number of departures with a limited group size. Many tours fill quickly so it is always advisable to book early to get your preferred choice of dates. A completed booking form and deposit are needed to fully reserve the holiday. No contract shall be formed between you and the Singles Holiday Club or our suppliers/agents until you have received a written confirmation through the post that your booking has been accepted.

I’ve seen a holiday I like: how do I find out what space is available?

This website is regularly updated with booking availability. Alternatively, you can contact our office on 0845 163 9000 to check the availability of your holiday.

How do I make a booking?

There are three ways to book a holiday:

  • Directly from this website by clicking on ‘Book Now’ on your chosen holiday page.
  • By telephoning our reservations staff on the number shown with your chosen holiday on the website or in our brochure. They will be happy to complete a booking form for you and take your credit card details.
  • By telephoning our reservations staff to make a provisional booking. We will hold this for 7 days enabling you to post or fax your booking form to us with a cheque or credit card details.

To improve our service, your call may be recorded for training and quality purposes.

What happens after booking?

Once we have received your booking form and your deposit, you will receive confirmation from us within two weeks. Your confirmation will show the remaining balance and the date when it has to be paid. You may choose to receive this by post or email.

Can I book with my local Travel Agent?

No. We only sell directly to the public.

What is included?

Our holidays are rich in content and include city tours, guided visits, excursions, meals, transport, and hotel accommodation. Each Itinerary specifies exactly what is included, so there are no 'hidden' extras. Our experience means that the major sights you would wish to see are included in the package - and in the price.

What are the excursions like?

Excursions are included in the price of your holiday. They are designed to give a balance of cultural, historical and social interest and to give you insight into the areas we visit. On most excursions, in addition to your Tour Manager, we are accompanied by a local guide with specialist knowledge of the sights being visited. some excursions are to off-the-beaten-track destinations that simply would not be stumbled upon without this local knowledge.

Do I have to join in the excursions?

With our holidays you will never feel "herded", and customers sometimes break away from the group to explore independently. There are also those who prefer to forego a particular excursion to relax at the hotel - it is your holiday after all.

Your Tour Manager is there to provide help when you need it or to discreetly 'disappear' when you don't. The programme of activity is comprehensive, but not compulsory - it is very easy to opt in or out as you please. There is time to yourself and freedom to indulge your own interests.

Do I have to share a bedroom?

No. All of our holidays are based on your own room with private facilities and our holidays have no single supplements.

Should I book early?

Yes!  All airlines insist that we adhere to strict deadlines for releasing any unsold seats back to the airline. This means that if you leave your booking until close to the departure date, it is sometimes impossible to obtain a seat for you on the group flight or at the group fare.

This can also be the case if we have sold all of our original allocation. In either case it may mean additional costs for either the flight or for an individual transfer on top of the published price of the holiday.  We therefore strongly recommend that you book your holiday early.

You can book early with confidence: we believe our prices are fair and reasonable and we do not make 'late booking offers' or 'late discounts'. Therefore you can book early, confident in the knowledge that you are getting the best price. If for any reason we do reduce the price of a tour, for example because one of our suppliers reduces their rates, then we apply the reduction to everyone on that tour, including those who have already booked.

I’d like to fly from my local airport

Our holidays usually depart from Gatwick or Heathrow.  We can usually organise add-on flights from your local airport and prices are subject to availability, and will be quoted on request.

I’m a first time Traveller

We understand that going away on your own for the first time can be daunting, which is why becoming part of a group can help you feel more at ease. In the company of new friends, you can enjoy a different way of holidaying, safe in the knowledge that you are free to enjoy your own company or join others if you wish for exploration, dining, travel and fun.

How many people will be on my holiday?

Normally around 15-30 people but this of course may vary with the type of holiday.

How old are my fellow Travellers?

We welcome everyone from the age of 20, with no upper limit. Most of our guests are between 30 and 60 years old, but many people say that a mixed age range is part of the fun.

Will I be on my own?

Only if you choose to be. All excursions are organised as a group and you and your holiday companions can eat together. A Tour Manager accompanies all our holidays to arrange meals together, offer advice and answer any questions. Of course there will be plenty of time and space for you to be alone whenever you choose.

What is the ratio of men to women?

We do not manage the proportion of women to men on our holidays. The ratio varies, but there are usually slightly more ladies than men.

Is the Singles Holiday Club a dating service?

We are not a dating or introduction service. Our holidays are about single travellers enjoying holidays to worldwide destinations with like-minded people.

What is included in the price?

Prices are in pounds sterling and – of course – per person. With very different holidays on offer, you need to read the individual holiday description to see what is included for each one, but generally we provide:

  • Return flights including all taxes
  • A standard room for your sole use
  • Airport transfers at the start and end of the holiday
  • Breakfast every day and – on some days, lunches or dinners
  • The services of a Tour Manager throughout – and / or local representatives on certain holidays
  • Some holidays include relevant activities, such as skiing or water-sports: again, please check the individual holiday descriptions.

Are there any hidden extras?

If you read the small print of some brochures, you may discover that few excursions are included and many of the interesting sights are 'optional extras' at additional cost. This adds to your budget and takes away from your enjoyment because you are pressured to book extra treats as you travel.

This is not the case on our holidays, where every excursion, city tour and sightseeing visit we describe in the itinerary is included in the price. We make it crystal clear on each holiday itinerary exactly what is included and what extras should be budgeted for, which means there are no hidden extras.

How do I get to the hotel?

We include the cost of transfers by local coach, taxi or minibus at the beginning and end of your holiday.

Do I need Personal Insurance?

This is mandatory for any overseas trips. You may also wish to consider specific cover for any valuable equipment.

ABTA/ATOL protection

All package holidays shown, which include air travel are ATOL protected by the Civil Aviation Authority.  ATOL Protection does not apply to all holiday and travel services on this website unless you have booked flights as part of your holiday with us. Please ask us to confirm what protection may apply to your booking.  Please see our booking conditions for more information. In some cases we act as a principal contractor or agent for licensed tour operators: in this event the relevant ATOL number will be sent with each holiday booking form.

Our Customer Services team

Once we have received your booking form by post or email and the appropriate deposit, our specialist Customer Services team will issue you with a holiday confirmation. From then until your departure date, they will arrange further holiday documentation, booking variations, hotel or flight upgrades, holiday extensions and any amendments that may occur before your holiday departs.
