For centuries, Italy has drawn visitors in search of culture and romance, with few countries comparing with its art, architecture, music, design, scenery, food and wine.  Some of the finest scenery is to be found as you approach the Alps around Lake Garda where the abundant flowers and trees are reflected in an ever-changing kaleidoscope of colour.

Verona is without doubt one of the most attractive cities you will ever see and appropriately well known as the setting for the legendary story of Romeo and Juliet. It has been important since ancient times and in fact has more ancient remains than any city in Italy except Rome itself.

Venice is a glorious cliché, more romantic, more beautiful and more surprising than you could expect. No matter how many photographs or films you may have seen, it is still a jaw-dropping experience seeing Venice's canals and palaces for the first time.  Just the name is enough to conjure up a host of images: gondoliers in striped jerseys, the Rialto and the Bridge of Sighs, masked balls, golden barges, courtesans in gondolas and crumbling palaces facing streets made of water.

Lake Garda Itinerary

Day one

We take our scheduled flight from Gatwick to Milan. On arrival we will be met by our local guide and transferred to the 3* Superior Hotel in Riva del Garda where we will stay for the next six nights. The first night is on a half-board basis and the remaining nights are on bed and breakfast basis (there is an included dinner on day two and day four, plus a farewell dinner on the last evening)

Day two

Included full day tour by boat of Lake Garda including boat tickets and accompanying guide for the day - dinner at local restaurant

Day three

Free day in Riva to explore at your leisure - dinner at your leisure

Day four

Included full day tour to Verona with a guided city tour - transport and accompanying guide for the day.   Included - dinner at local restaurant.

Day five

Optional pre-bookable full day tour of the Dolomites by coach including guide - dinner at your leisure

Day six

Free day in Riva - Gala Dinner this evening including Live Music - a great way to end this holiday

Day seven

Checking out of the hotel - depart for Venice for a full day excursion including guided city tour.
Transfer to Venice Marco Polo airport for 19.30hrs for return flight to Gatwick @ 22.50hrs

The hotel

The Royal Hotel is situated in a particularly quiet position just 250m from the lake and within easy walking distance of the town centre with its many restaurants. It has 54 modern rooms with private facilities; shower / WC; air conditioning; telephone; outdoor pool; garden ; solarium; dining room ; bar; TV room & lift. The garden offers guests relaxation under the shade of the trees, feeling the fresh breeze of the Ora wind from the Lake, or if you prefer... just a few metres away, are the Lake’s public beaches.
